Motivational and spiritual songs written by Chris Cates for 365 Songs for 2010.

Master of My Fate (song of the day)

Nothing like a funky motivational song to get the mid-week juices flowing.  Speaking of juices I started a two day juice detox today and six hours in I’m already super hungry.  Undoubtedly that will go away (I hope).   We’ll see about that, especially if I sneak away to play nine at Candler Park Golf course this afternoon.

This song was inspired by Napolean Hill’s “Think and Grow Rich” a must read for literally everybody.

Passion and Purpose (song of the day)

I’m working hard on being a full time musician again.  It’s a long process but it’s rewarding in it’s own way.  I’m glad I love to practice.  This is one of my most inspirational songs.  I use it to remind myself about my passion and my purpose from time to time.  But not often enough.  Thanks for listening!

If You Feed it, It Will Grow (song of the day)

This song was a lot of fun to record live in Elixir studios way back in 2003.  John Wayne Tuggle on slide, Dwayne Wallace on bass, Andrej Kurti on violin and Wilma on backing vocals.   Peter Fancher on the board in the control room.  This song also has a good message that I try to remember from time to time.  Thanks for listening!

What a Beautiful Feeling (song of the day #2)

I’ll post another song for today since I haven’t been around to post many this week.   This is my song of the day from last year on May 7th.  I should have renamed it “What a Beautiful Feeling because it’s Pay Day!”.   Thanks for listening!

Why Not Right Now

I’m posting this one for our friend Brandi.  This is her favorite song by us.  This is from the Master Plan album “Dead Man’s Suit” from 2007.  On this one, I get to get my keyboard solo on.  Thanks for listening!

Master of My Fate

I haven’t put an inspirational number up lately.  This song rocks motivational style! From my positive thought rock album ‘Passion and Purpose’.   This song is fun to play live, especially when we’ve got John Kell on sax in the mix.

RollerCoaster Day

Doing business in Atlanta but it’s a lot of fun and it’s very fast paced.  I love it!  I’m a mult-tasker, so it’s right up my alley.  I wrote today’s song when I was 17 and soulmate (at the time) was having a tough day.  It was meant to cheer her up.  It finally made one of my records 17 year later and it still cheers me up.  Thanks for listening!
