I apologize for the incomplete blogs, music etc. the last few days. I don’t know exactly what is going on with that. Adair had a similar issue last week, so it must be something with the site. Needless to say, I’ll be more vigilant about making sure the content is up. I wouldn’t want to let down my fan (whoever you are out there).
Today’s song turned out really good actually. It’s pretty tongue in cheek (shocker) and gets back into that double time style I used to write with a lot when we were hitting the college circuit hard, back in the day. Thanks for listening!
Some people love to be in love. Sometimes, so much that they do it over and over again unsuccessfully (or otherwise, if that’s what they’re going for). It’s almost like they’re in love with being in love. Which is not a bad thing, what feeling is better? But if you’re going just for that loving feeling (how Righteous) only, heartbreak is probably hiding behind a dreadful conversation somewhere down the line.
I like to look at it from the positive standpoint however. Be in love with being in love and love loving your loved one and love doing it.
I got up fairly early and worked on other stuff and then I wrote this right before lunch and then recorded it after the Patriots started getting completely romped.
“The Sweetest Thing is Everything” started with a few old words about inspiration and ended up like it ended up. I finally got to put some of my favorite french horns into one of these new songs (Burt Bacharach style)!
Welcome to Chris Cates.com. I'm an old school independent artist with lots of albums, songs, solar panels etc. This site tries to encapsulate what it is I've been doing since I played my first professional gig at 13. I post a song of the day occasionally from my somewhat excessive original song catalogue and I'm constantly recording new material when I'm not building solar farms, trying to play golf or tennis or taking care of my new twin girls.
