Not My First Go Round – Song #2

This song is about keeping it going no matter how many mistakes you make along the way.

“Sometimes I get closer, sometimes I miss it all

Sometimes I stay standing, sometimes I slip and fall

It’s not my first go round and it probably won’t be my last”

Thanks for listening!

June 24 “Tall Dark and Good for Nothing”

We seem to be getting a lot of requests at our shows for line dancing songs.   Of which, we really haven’t had anything popular to play.  Undoubtedly, that’s something we really need to work on.  You know we love to please our peeps.   Anyway, that’s what prompted me to just write one for us to play.  That’s how “Tall Dark and Good for Nothing” got started.  It’s in that line dance, blues shuffle tradition (a beat I have no experience playing on drums).

Anyway, I hope you enjoy it!   Have a great day!

Feb 19 “Down to My Time and Place”

It’s been fifty days since I started my song a day project!!   What a learning experience and an experiment in commitment I’ve endured.    There’s definitely been some moments of excitement and of frustration but for the most part I’ve maintained a sense of joy doing it.

This last week has been a struggle but I’ll get back in the swing of things soon I’m sure.  I’ve got a gig tonight with my band so that should get the juices flowing.

Fittingly this song is about how I was just complaining that I never had enough time to get all the things done that I want done.  I really need about 22 hours in the studio a day to get all my various projects done.  Adair was telling me I need to quit worrying about the time and start celebrating what I get done.
