I’m stuck in a hotel in Americus, Georgia tonight because of the weather and I hear the interstates are locked down in the ATL. I can only imagine what it’s like in my native NC Mountains. Here’s a funky song to get through the heavy weather tonight. “If you got dog’s you better put them in a shed”.
March is rolling in and like clockwork we’ve got another winter weather advisory. I think I’ve mentioned that I’ve canceled four gigs already this year because of weather and it’s starting to get old.
Not to mention driving a ten thousand pound truck in the snow and ice. Actually that’s kind of fun.
“Spring in Asheville” is kind of recognizing a few good and bad things in the world today while wishing for spring at the same time. I really don’t hate the cold as much as I make it out in this song. I actually don’t mind it much.
Welcome to Chris Cates.com. I'm an old school independent artist with lots of albums, songs, solar panels etc. This site tries to encapsulate what it is I've been doing since I played my first professional gig at 13. I post a song of the day occasionally from my somewhat excessive original song catalogue and I'm constantly recording new material when I'm not building solar farms, trying to play golf or tennis or taking care of my new twin girls.
