Ah Las Vegas. That seems to be a theme I come back to often as well. There is something about being on Las Vegas Boulevard that I just can’t explain. I got married there at the Flamingo four years ago and last year we went back and stayed at The Mirage (which I highly recommend). The funny thing is, I don’t gamble (except for the occasional football game). Unless of course, you consider being in the music business gambling.
I had a great time doing my recycling route with Mozart, my dog, today. I haven’t tried that before and he’s actually a great truck companion. I always envisioned that when I was thinking about getting a dog.
Before I wrote today’s song I was thinking about the people that handle the big cats at the MGM in Las Vegas. Don’t ask me why. Probably because I think that would be an ideal job for me. Because my favorite thing in the world is petting my cats. Thanks for listening!
I must be ready for a vacation. I’ve been thinking about it a lot lately. I am going to a few places this summer but they’re a ways off. Today’s song is about getting out of town and names a few of my favorite places to go, Chicago, Vegas and San Diego. I’ll be going to Chicago next month actually, to play golf and see Iron Maiden in concert. Hopefully I’ll go up and see Phish again in August at Alpine Valley. Now it seems that I’m dreaming up new vacations when I haven’t actually gone on any of the ones I have planned yet.
I don’t know how this song popped up today. I guess I was thinking about Vegas. I love it there and I don’t gamble, I’ve tried to get Adair to move there but she’s not convinced.
And like the song, we did get married in Vegas and it was the best. It could not have been better. This song’s not about our experience exactly it’s talking about in more general poetic terms. Songwriter stuff, I guess. Anyway, real estate is super cheap in Vegas. Invest and let me know.
