Big week on the recycling boat once again. But it’s over now and I’m heading to a golf tournament in Georgia. I have barely played this year so I’m mainly going to have fun and to play some music with an old friend of mine. I must admit, tonight’s came pretty fast and I recorded it as quickly.
Today I’m actually home on Saturday which is a bit rare. I was scheduled to play for the writers on the High Country Media tour at Beech Mountain but the frozen roads up that way forced me to stay home.
I absolutely hate not making it to gigs.
Oh well, I made the best of it cleaning up my studio and making it a little more recording ready. I also fixed a clearer path to the drums so I don’t have to frantically run to them every time I’m doing a drum take. And I set a permanent mic up on my piano, so we’ll probably be seeing a few solo piano numbers in the future.
Anyway, today’s song “Easy Breezy” was s inspired by “The Shift” a movie by Wayne Dyer that we watched this morning.
Welcome to Chris Cates.com. I'm an old school independent artist with lots of albums, songs, solar panels etc. This site tries to encapsulate what it is I've been doing since I played my first professional gig at 13. I post a song of the day occasionally from my somewhat excessive original song catalogue and I'm constantly recording new material when I'm not building solar farms, trying to play golf or tennis or taking care of my new twin girls.
