August 15th “Song for Sade”

Phish was awesome last night at Alpine Valley in East Troy, Wisconsin.  They jammed more than they have in years.  They are really better than they ever have been.  We had a blast and had perfect seats on the lawn.

On my song posting, I think today will be the last of instrumental week.  I’ll be back home tonight and will be able to record some songs the old-fashioned way (with lyrics).  This is a very mellow jammer, couldn’t you hear Sade singing over this?

August 14th “Culo Caliente”

The gig was fun last night.  Nothing like rocking out with Mid-westerners, you just don’t get to do that enough in life.  We’re headed to Milwaukee now, I haven’t been there since the eighties but I hear nothing but good things about it.  Then it’s Phish at East Troy, Wisconsin tonight.  That’s gonna be fun, especially since Chris and Chris have never seen them before.   This is probably my fiftieth go round.

June 30th “Search Light Shine”

I’m finally back home for a day.  It’s been several weeks since I’ve had a “day off”.   Of course that means my day off is not playing golf at Reem’s Creek, it’s playing catch up recording songs for my 365 songs blog.   I’ve still been writing every day, I just haven’t been able to record for three days.

I did some cool things though, aside from the daily work, I saw Phish in Raleigh which was awesome, then I played a show in Sylva last night at their downtown amphi-theatre.   We played the best we’ve played with the new line up.  It was a blast.

Thanks for listening!

May 25 “Ready for an Adventure”

I must be ready for a vacation.  I’ve been thinking about it a lot lately.  I am going to a few places this summer but they’re a ways off.  Today’s song is about getting out of town and names a few of my favorite places to go, Chicago, Vegas and San Diego.   I’ll be going to Chicago next month actually, to play golf and see Iron Maiden in concert.   Hopefully I’ll go up and see Phish again in August at Alpine Valley.   Now it seems that I’m dreaming up new vacations when I haven’t actually gone on any of the ones I have planned yet.
