What a week and it’s still going. I’ve got an acoustic gig out of town tonight and then drive even farther tomorrow for a Master Plan gig at a wedding in Pinehurst. Weddings are a ton of fun to play. Everybody is there to have a good time. It’ll also be our first gig with our new guitar player and vocalist Chris Campbell.
It’s a country themed thing, so we get to get our country on which is also a lot of fun. Today’s song is a british rock inspired song, created when I put it on the british rock selection on my amp.
Monday again and back on the recycling boat. Of course I made the mistake of spending my whole weekend building my massive fence, so I’m starting the week sore; which is not a good thing. Oh well, at least today I managed to work, drive 130 miles, go to the library, return my mower and get a new one, practice for my golf tournament this weekend in Georgia, mow the grass (with my new cordless mower), write this song and the song for tomorrow (because I’ll be out of town) and hang out with my lovely wife and our pets (and watch the Lakers).
For some reason money is the subject for the second day in a row. Honestly, it’s not something that’s on my mind right now for the first time in my life. This must be how I’m exorcising those demons.
Still playing catch up with the songs but I had a fantastic day in the studio with Chris Singleton finishing all of the bass lines for our “Follow the Feeling” album.
We’re really excited about it. It’s a new sound for us, dance music/disco/synth/rock/party music. It’s actually an album that’s mainstream, maybe a first for me.
Anyway, today’s song “A Place Between Awake” is about my returning home late at night from my music/work endeavors that keep me away from home and my comfy bed with my wife.
I guess that’s a recurring theme this month, “Sleeping Sweetly” was kind of about this a little a week or so ago. But it was more about the cold weather than my sojourns.
