Here’s a playlist that I’ll be constantly adding and changing of the inspirational songs that have been published and released. I actually have about 50 more inspirational songs that need to be published and hopefully I’ll get to them eventually. I get bogged down trying to finish other projects, like the Parakeet Nelson album I am currently in the home stretch on. Thanks for listening!
My new album is finally complete and out today!! It took a while to record and finish and there were some casualties along the way but now it’s here! “My Old Soul” mixes R&B elements with synthesizers, sax and guitars and has a general concept of loose spirituality and consciousness. I’m playing guitar, keys, drums, harmonica etc. with Chris Singleton playing bass on most of the album and John Kell on Sax. Adair Cates, Jeramy Lamanno, Kerry Jones and John Kell sing back ups.
“What a Beautiful Feeling” is the first song and it gets the good vibes going right away. I tried to show a little motown influence on it while throwing in a big #TreyAnastasio like guitar solo to bring it home. Thanks for listening! #newmusic #chriscates #myoldsoul
I’m working hard on being a full time musician again. It’s a long process but it’s rewarding in it’s own way. I’m glad I love to practice. This is one of my most inspirational songs. I use it to remind myself about my passion and my purpose from time to time. But not often enough. Thanks for listening!
I haven’t put an inspirational number up lately. This song rocks motivational style! From my positive thought rock album ‘Passion and Purpose’. This song is fun to play live, especially when we’ve got John Kell on sax in the mix.
Also available on itunes!
I’ve been listening to a lot of biographies of early American presidents and they always seem to be talking about providence. ‘Providence’ is one of those words that can have so many meanings. I tend to look at it as meaning good fortune. Back in the Revolution however, it had a deadly meaning of victory or destruction. Anyway, I haven’t done a spiritual type song lately. I guess it was providence that I would again.
I was feeling a bit rough today after staying up to watch the Lakers then getting up at 5. We had to pick up recycling from 220 houses in Hildebran which didn’t help my situation much, but alas I persevered and made it through another work week once again.
I haven’t done a spiritual type song in a while, the idea comes from a quote that Wayne Dyer says a lot “we are spiritual beings living in human form.
Looking forward to my gig tonight. We’re not playing as much this year which is good and bad. It definitely makes it more intense when we finally get together. The NBA Playoffs, my favorite time of year is also starting today. I’m surprised I didn’t write a song about that.
Today’s song sprang from a conversation I had with a new author friend this morning. I haven’t done one of these spiritual type songs in a while. I guess I was due.
