Polyester King

I’m taking it back old school today.  Back to Fred Rumfelt’s studio in Marion, NC in 1989.   The Seeing-Eye Band which was Jeramy Lamanno, Greg Beaver, Jason Peeler and me went in and knocked out ten songs first take.  We were so young that we didn’t know to be nervous.  I had only been playing guitar for a few months and Greg had just switched to bass.    Check out his sweet bass work through (including the psychadelic freak out in the middle).   We were heavily inspired by Uriah Heep, If and the Keef Hartley Band at the time. Thanks for listening!

October 21st “Magnolia Nights”

The North winds are blowing and it’s finally starting to get a little chilly.  The perfect time for a song like “Magnolia Nights”.   The guts of this song harks back to The Seeing-Eye Band days of the early 90’s.  I basically decided to re-write this song mainly because Mike Lowdermilk, who was in the band, always liked it so much.  So this new version is for Mike.   Although it’s not quite the same without Mike, Jeramy Lamanno, Jason Peeler and Kirk Leonhardt playing along with me.   Thanks for listening!
