October 6th “Happy as the Wind”

The last two weeks have been pretty hectic.  I’ve driven a few thousand miles, won a golf tournament (my flight that is), worked basically every day and performed at night several times.  I’m not complaining, after all I scheduled it that way.  People always say being busy is good.   But is that always true?   I can’t agree on that whole heartedly.   That’s what today’s song is about.  Thanks for listening!

March 28 “That Old Grey Hawk”

I’m officially letting go of winter with this song.  No more snow references or the wind or the temperature.   It’s been a good winter to write about however.    Hopefully that doesn’t mean it’s gonna be a summer to write about (weather related that is).

Anyway, I heard most of the ‘Sweet Baby James’ album by JT today recycling and that’s definitely what inspired this song style.  I added the accordion to give it that french cafe  ambiance that I’ve been longing for.

March 1st “Spring in Asheville”

March is rolling in and like clockwork we’ve got another winter weather advisory.   I think I’ve mentioned that I’ve canceled four gigs already this year because of weather and it’s starting to get old.

Not to mention driving a ten thousand pound truck in the snow and ice.  Actually that’s kind of fun.

“Spring in Asheville” is kind of recognizing a few good and bad things in the world today while wishing for spring at the same time.  I really don’t hate  the cold as much as I make it out in this song.   I actually don’t mind it much.
