You guessed it, I’m on vacation with my family this weekend. I’m doing a pretty good job so far of not wanting to be working. That’s usually my problem on vacation. I’m so used to working 16 hour days that it’s hard to stop. What can I say, I love to make music (the hard labor not so much so). Thanks for listening!
Today’s song is called “Rest” and I guess you could call it a fantasy on my part. My motto is “if I’m awake I’m working”. That’s basically how it has to be to get all of the things I do done. And I still don’t have quite the time I need. I sleep six hours a night which usually works out okay, it’s just that every few weeks I’ve got to really try and sleep a long time to catch up. But I usually just lay and bed and think about all of the stuff I need to do.. Oh well. I’ll live vicariously through this song.
I’ll post the song when I get back to Asheville Wednesday. Thanks for listening.
Today’s title is fitting, I put in a big week of work but it’s over now. Now it’s time for a big weekend of work. Luckily it’s studio time, which is a little less strenuous as curbside recycling. Although it’s funny, my fingers actually hurt worse from using a mouse for 30 hours than from lifting 12,000 pounds in 30 hours. Actually, since I’ve been taking a lot of Fish Oil, I hardly have any pain any more. Maybe it’s mental. Of course it’s mental.
Back on the grind. 5:30am came a little early this morning. I’m the type that can’t make myself go to bed early, so calling it a night at 10:30pm is really a huge undertaking for me.
Especially when I have countless things to do in the studio and a work week looming that’s basically keeping me away from home until Saturday. That’s my sob story for the night.
It snowed in Asheville today for a few hours and I laughed at Spring which is supposed to be around the corner. Then I went and bought a new cordless mower. I guess Spring is around the corner.
“Working on Working it Out” came from something I said in a conversation with Chris Singleton today. It features my new keyboard once again.
Ah the joys of taking on a project like this. I’m still a song behind and to avoid going two down, I stayed up late writing and recording a song last night. Then I got up early this morning to write and record one before I leave Asheville to work for a few days in a row out of town.
Luckily I seem to be just as creative at 7am as I am at 7pm. Actually maybe more so, although I’m not as energetic as you can imagine.
Now I’ve got to decide, do I start another song to get ahead tomorrow or do I try to get a last minute appointment with my chiropractor.
